Do you guys remember conversation hearts from when you were a kid?
I do. I loved them. They were like the original text messages…
with phrases like: “UR COOL” & “CALL ME” how could they not be?
I thought they were so cool.
Let’s face it, part of me still does.
Thats why I made these beauties for my sweet valentine.
They are super easy to make, here’s the trick:
I bought the BIG marshmallows at Walmart.
They are like the Godzilla of Marshmallows. Look at that mini-marshmallow cower in fear.
I picked up the amazing food color pens by Duff at Michael’s.
So I know they were a little pricey, but when you have a 50% off coupon they are not bad at all…
plus I have a feeling I will use these bad boys again.
I found the trick is to use they like a paint brush –
small even strokes produce a great result for the images and long strokes for the letters.
Trick #2 is to paint the side, not the top…. found that out the hard way.
Trick #3 is to check your mallow and find the “flat” side of the cylinder,
thats the side that will be the bottom… it a buoyancy thing.
You could easily do a little personal joke,
like a certain pop song that SOMEONE in my house has been singing for the last 9 months….
Or, how cute would it be for a guy to ask his gal that big question?
(Insert the awwwwws here)
I loved making the little ones, so presh.
I did little pink ones for my cup and red for my special someone’s.
What message will you leave for your sweetheart?
