Hey guys + dolls! Back to School is upon us. As is homework. My girl is a studious one, so I made her this little portable homework station to hold all her supplies. I wanted it to go with my decor (so, you know: white) and be easily portable since we do homework at the dining table and this had to make it’s home above the fridge (for now.. because I want a taller fridge. But that’s beside the point) Here’s how you make the magic happen:
Wooden carry all (available at Michales)
2 tin buckets (Target Dollar Spot always has them in some color combo)
And yes … I actually did write “werk it” on my kid’s homework station. I tried to write a Bible verse about working heartily for the Lord but it was a bit too long for the space… and then I wrote a smaller inspirational quote, but to be honest, it just didn’t feel like my family. Then I wrote “werk it” and it seemed to fit the sentiment I was going for. So it’s staying for now. And no, the irony is not lost on me that I am using slang and a misspelled work on my child’s homework station while simultaneously asking her to spell things correctly. I am an artist and a mom… so once she learns the rules of spelling then she can decide when she wants to break them for artistic purposes :\
Feel free to be way more spiritual and inspirational with your kid’s chalk message or steal the “werk it” theme… I am all about sharing.
What supplies do you put in your homework station?
