So I am in super “make this rental a home” mode. As I know you are all aware from my relentless posting (livingroom, kitchen.) I have not even shown you the bathroom yet, but I need some storage in there ASAP. As you remember from the moving day photos there is ZERO storage in the bathroom. So I needed somewhere to put hairspray and lotions and the clock that is supposed to keep me from being late to work. Anyhow, I got all excited to do this craft so I jumped a head and did it. Such a fun afternoon project.
I went to my local swedish furniture store and got some inexpensive shelves and then I grabbed these awesome Handmade Charlotte stencils and a paint pen (or two). I am a sucker for all things gold (like my gold drip candle holders, and Henry Allen knock off vase, and Little girls topsiders) and I decided to add silver into my metallic repertoire too. I am growing. Be proud.
So, here’s the super simple process:
First try your best to decide on a stencil. These were so cute, I had a hard time narrowing them down. But I finally decided on the chevron and the triangles. I love how the triangles look like my header logo. So cute.
I just lined up the stencil and colored in the lines. Which is easy because it’s a stencil. I made little marks in the stencil of where the top and bottom of the side of shelving lined up in order that my triangles stayed in a straight line across the whole shelf. The stencils were super easy to use. Like ridiculously easy. I love a simple project!
Yeah, I did keep them straight. Success!
Then have your awesome husband hang these bad boys. And admire.
Didn’t I tell you? Easy Peasy!
Did anyone else get their craft / home improvement on this weekend?

I love the details you added to the shelves! Great idea and I’m going to steal the paint pen idea when I work with a small stencil that is hard to paint. So smart!
