I am in love with chalkboard walls. I would love to doodle and scribble, write love notes and grocery lists. Plus, it’s a great excuse to have an all black wall in your house. But we are renters of our tiny abode, so any permanent changes like painting walls is a big no-no. (You can take our home tour here, here, here, and here – we only have 4 rooms, it’s a quick tour.) So, I found a way to make a removable chalkboard wall that is perfect for your rental, dorm, or otherwise temporary housing situation.
Oh yes, Amazon has chalkboard contact paper (affiliate link) for only $8.49! And look how it changes things in my kitchen:
See the sad blank wall between the fridge and trash cans? Now it is not so sad:
Ok, wait… that still looks boring. Heres a more interesting shot:
You can make it as fun and cute as you like, I personally have a DEEP abiding love for all things autumnal so I made a little chalkboard fall wreath (check back on Friday for my actual fall wreath that *might* have chalkboardness included. wink wink.)
I did not love the cheese-tastic bow… so I grabbed my sponge and erased that mess:
Let’s just bask in the glory of the chalkboard wall. And you will want to come back on Friday because my next chalkboard project is one you are gonna want to do in your house. Seriously, it’s a “go to Michaels and get the supplies now, this is happening tonight” kind of project.
(This is not a sponsored post, I have not been compensated in any form for mentioning Contact Paper, I am simply a satisfied customer)
