Little known fact: I did not start drinking until I was 28. Yep, I am a total noob. My husband was a Youth Pastor from the time we were married (I was 20 – more fun facts) and we wanted to be good examples for the students – that you did not have to drink to have fun. Which many of our students took to heart and abstained from drinking during High School – good job guys! Later, when we became missionaries, one day I was like “Oh, yeah, I am an adult, I can totally have a glass of wine with dinner if I want to!” It was a very empowering moment. So, thankfully I missed all the drunken kegger stage of early 20’s drinking and jumped right to wine – the drink of choice for the almost 30 crowd. I am so glad I did. I like wine.
Of course once we moved back to the US it did not take long to find out about BevMo!’s 5 cent wine sale. And it is going on right now. With over 200 bottles to choose from you can try out new wines without breaking the bank AND if you aren’t happy with it, you can bring it back with your receipt and get a full refund. Nice!
BevMo!’s Cellar Master, Wilfred Wong, chooses all the wines himself. Here’s a list of his Top 10 picks for this wine sale here or stop by your local store for more personalized help. They just opened their 151st store in Riverside, CA. Which is quite near to my new home (cuz we just moved, check out some home photos here and here) which makes my life easy. I need to go get some of that personalized help because I am the kind of girl who finds what she likes and sticks with it:
Mirassou Pinto Noir. Yum. I think it is good to know what you like, but I cannot always play it safe. So I am going to the store and have them give me some 5 cent suggestions. And even if I do not like them then I can get my $$ back. Win win win. Check out their Facebook for more updates.
Any suggestions on what I should try? (knowing I am a Pinto Noir / Moscato fan)
What’s your fav wine?
