If you’re planning a girls’ weekend in Napa, there are some things you HAVE to do. I recently got the chance to visit Napa Valley and experience their amazing food and hospitality thanks to our partners at Visit Napa Valley. I have 5 tips to rock your Girls’ Weekend in Napa
Rent a Car
You will want it. Napa Valley is super cute and there’s a lot to experience. We stayed on the North end of the Valley in Calistoga and Rutherford, but ended up driving all over the valley in our Kia Sorrent SXL. Do not worry about getting lost, Napa is pretty much a straight shot north to south, and if you’re really concerned, you can download the Waze app for GPS. I feel that it’s comforting to have a British man helping to direct me safely around.
Stay somewhere swanky
Trust me, you and your girls deserve it. Here’s my recommendation: somewhere you all can be together and relax. Bonus points for resorts that provide you with a fire pit and comfy chairs (I see you, Calistoga Spa Hot Springs) also, places with shared living spaces are great. Silverado Resort has this awesome 3 bedroom 2 bath house that is perfect for group relaxation… and for sharing a bottle of wine (check rental availability here.) Plus, white kitchens are my favorite, so they win there.
Do the spa treatments
A girls’ weekend is all about relaxing with your besties, right? I highly suggest the massage and mud bath at Calistoga Spa Hot Springs. Brini (Play Party Plan) and I had never done a mud bath before so we were not sure what to expect. Good news: I would totally do it again! First you rinse off, then get into the mud, it’s super warm and feels kinda like spongy cottage cheese… all over your body. But it is very relaxing and an attendant keeps you hydrated with cucumber water and cool cloths. After the mud you rinse again (cuz that mud gets everywhere) and then you take a mineral bath. I loved that part because the tubs are deep. I need one in my master bath. You follow with a steam in the sauna and then, wait for it: a nap. Yes, you read that right. That sweet little attendant wraps you in a thin blanket and leaves you to nap in a dimly-lit room. It’s the best.
Eat all the food
Guys, Napa Valley knows how to do food. And wine. And how to pair the two together. So just trust k? No matter your foodie’s heart desires, they’ve gotcha covered. I am grain-free and had an awesome culinary exploration. (All the details here.) Try any of the following, you won’t be sad (and click on any image to be taken to make reservations and see other reviews):
Try something new
Napa has some cool adventures. For the mellow traveler: take the Napa Valley Wine Train (and Castle Tour – find booking info here) You won’t regret riding the rails, eating amazing food, and seeing the wine country at a relaxed pace. Plus, you get to tour a castle. For you thrill seekers: hot air ballooning with Napa Valley Aloft. I think hot air ballooning is one of the most exciting and relaxing things I have ever done. Plus, the arial views are fantastic. Both activities will be an awesome experience, promise.
I promise you will not regret spending time with your girls in such a beautiful place.
Now, go get your girls on board and book your flight!
