Happy Wednesday! I am loving vacation. Today we are headed to the lake (the one where my husband and I got engaged…awww!) with all the cousins on my husbands side. We have legit American BBQ Cookout grub, sand toys, bubbles, even a party boat. It is going to be /is currently/was totally fun!(depending on when you read this.) So here’s what this girl has been up to:
The Creative Exchange
I love giving gifts! (And let’s be honest, I love getting gifts too!) So when I had the opportunity to participate in two separate gift exchanges I was totally in. The first exchange was called The Creative Exchange hosted by Covered in Mod Podge, The Grant Life, and Covered in Grace. Where I get to hand make a gift for another blogger who I am randomly paired with. This was so much fun because I got to meet a new friend and go explore her blog and learn all about her. I must say that I believe that I would have made an excellent stalker.Which makes me sound like a freak, but since you already know that and you’re still here I will take it as a sign that you’re cool hanging out with a weirdo. So that’s awesome for me. My blog buddy was: Jessica from jessicastansberry.com She is so cute. She is a blogger, a web designer, and a new momma. Love it. This was a match made in blog heaven because I love graphic design, and I am a blogger, and a momma. Through my super sleuthy detective work (I felt SO Veronica Mars!) I found out that Jessica loves photography. Score! So do I, and I had the perfect project for her: a ruffle camera strap cover. It took some doing, but I created a pattern and sewed her a super cute strap cover. I also got her some of my fav craft supplies from the Momma Crafter: Martha, as well as some cute little things that went with the teal and red color schedule I had going on. (And yes, I checked to ensure that Jessica was cool with teal before I went and assumed that everyone was like me and has a deep abiding love of teal. Be proud of me.)
Clockwise from top L: Martha Stewart Tags – super cute and can be used for SO many things! Magazine Tags – to help her remember what she loves. Mirrored Bird mini clothes pins – the cuteness was over whelming. Martha Glue Pen – helpful when you need glue application control. “Handmade with Love” stamp – a crafty girl’s signature. Handmade Ruffle Camera Strap Cover (tutorial here). Martha Baking Twine – the new standard in packaging.
I hope she loves it.
There was also a mug exchange that was canceled, but my partner and I decided that since we had already stalked the heck out of each others blogs we should continue. That, and I wanted a free mug. haha, j/k, kind of. My partner was Stephanie at sloganadventures.blogspot.com. She is a cutey little newly wed who is currently buying a new home in a new city and is preggers. Love it. I also love that the majority of her posts revolve around food. She is so my type of girl. Since she is a mommy to be and traveling back and forth between two cities, and packing, and moving, and generally on-the-go, I thought it fitting to get her a travel mug. Check it out:
Congrats on your soon-coming baby girl, Stephanie!
Here’s a little peak into my other goings on:
This is my brother’s dog, Odie. With “make-up” on. Little Girl decided that Sunday morning, 10 minutes before we leave for church would be the perfect time to put eye liner on. But she got her eye liner from the office… in the form of a sharpie. I was so quick to get the makeup remover and get the sharpie off her eye lid (and under her eye, and on her hands) that I forgot to snap a pic. But I did not realize that the dog got “pretty pretty” too until later. When I laughed, and took a photo. Apparently, it is funny when it is someone else’s (fur) baby that get’s sharpied.
