So you guys have seen the rest of the house tour from the before an after. And before I show you the Grand Finale, let’s recap…
And heres the last room in our tiny beach cottage, the bedroom:
Let’s remember our roots, shall we?
I know some of you are thinking… wait, what? You only have one bedroom?! With a toddler? What the what? As I mentioned (a long time ago) in this post we are committed to living debt-free and cannot afford a two bedroom with a yard so we opted for a one bedroom in order to live within our means. Is it weird having a toddler bed at the foot of my bed? Yes and no. Sometimes it is a pain, but for the most part Little Girl goes to bed WAY before we do and then we get up before her. So it is not terrible.
And can we just address Little Girls bed, how cute is this? It was a gift from one of the BFFs friends in Arizona. It’s so cute. Yes, I do want to refinish it, but for now I am focusing on other things. I have dreams of painting something cute on the headboard… but I also have dreams of getting a two bedroom and getting her a twin size bed. So maybe that will wait and I will focus my energy on making the 2 bedroom a reality.
Did you notice her little quilt:
I just love it. It was a gift at our baby shower form my MIL. It is all my husbands old Hawaiian shirts form when he was in HS and college. She had a quilter make it and the woman added the little foot prints up the side. SO CUTE. Again, it would be better suited for a Twin bed… just another reason to upgrade to a two bedroom. 🙂
We do have some areas to address in the room, like the blank walls on either side of the bed:
but I have BIG PLANS FOR THAT…
I am sure you guys are wondering about the pink dresser… we had it in Little Girl’s Nursery when we lived in California originally. We only kept a few things when we moved overseas to Roatan to be missionaries (you can read all about that here) like the white dresser we use as an entertainment center in the living room and our headboard (as seen above.)
The side tables are the Malm 3 Drawer from Ikea. I found the lamps at Home Goods for $25 each.
The white rectangular mirror over the pink dresser is an OLDy from Marshalls form when we were first married 10 yeargo. The original price tag is on the back and says “$14.99.”
So what do you guys think about the current 1 bedroom set up?
